More

Yeah, so this is more fun now that I'm figuring it out a bit. Thanks to ShabbyPrincess for the fun paper and embellishments. :-)

Digital Scrapbooking

After seeing some of Katrina's newest creations, I was inspired to try my hand at digital scrapbooking. I used a free download-able software and then spent several hours trying to figure it out. The internet can be a remarkable time-sucker. It was fun working with it and now I have this fun page to show for it. I'm still at the very beginning of learning, but wanted to share my accomplishment.

Day at the beach

We got to head to the coast today for Addi's first trip to the beach. We drove over to the Amy's parents at their campsite and then at the beach. The day started off really cold, but then warmed up beautifully. It felt like a real vacation and was just what we needed. Thanks to Gretchen for letting me borrow her Moby Wrap - that thing is awesome.

Yeah, it was sooo cold.

Papa holding Addi (whose little head is
all covered up.)

Macey discovered that throwing mud
was really, really fun.

Ethan, The Explorer

Ethan, The Explorer who had just
gotten dunked in the ocean when
Macey fell down and knocked him over.
He was not amused.

Adalie wondering why it was so very bright.

Ethan and Macey (after having their clothes changed
from being dunked in the ocean) discovered a great puddle.
They LOVED it.

Ethan delighted with a golf ball for most of the day.

Macey delighted in crawling around in the puddle.

Addi moments

I'm just updating pictures of Addi for family. Adalie is doing very well. She's been sleeping 5-6 hours/night, though sometimes (like tonight) those five hours are before I go to bed. She's trying though :-) She's growing so quickly and is able to hold her head up longer each day. She loves to look around and especially at the dark picture frames on the wall and at the lights. In this batch of photos, I had realized that I didn't have very many pictues of she and I, hence so many this round.

This is Adalie in a 3 month outfit for church.
I tried to put her in a newborn dress and whoa,
waaay too small. She's mov'n on up :-)

We took this picture trying to show her
hair after a bath. It curls up a little
like clown hair.

Up close and starring.

She's in a new phase, where she gets a bubble
and can only sleep vertically. I'm thankful
for it because we get such great snuggles.

Sometimes we have to wait to change
her diaper, 'cause she's still doing her business.

Working hard.

She loves this ladybug. She hits it
and tries to eat the legs.

Sweet thing.

Papa gets eskimo kisses....and then...

Hello friends and Fam,

I wanted to share this great moment I had with Addi yesterday. It's already amazing to see how she is changing. I tried the kisses again this morning not realizing she was hungry. She latched right on to my nose and went to town!

Lots of Photos

I should just tell you now that this blog is just gonna be FULL of pictures (of Addi). That is partially because we like her a lot and mostly because we have family out of the area - this is a great way to keep in touch with them. The first batch of pictures are from when our families were in town for Sandy's recital. The second batch are just some updated pictures of Adalie. She managed to get heat rash this last week (thanks 95 degree weather). It's been better the past few days, but that's why her face is all red and blotchy in some of the photos.

with Addi.

Addi in her sling that Grammy (Nicole's mom)
made. It made making dinner so much easier,
but Addi's head was a bit squished.

Joy and Adalie

Steve (Nicole's dad) and Eileen (Nicole's mom)

Yeah, momma takes a lot of pictures of her sleeping.

This is Adalie who is "supposed" to be sleeping.
You'll notice she's not...hmmm.
Good thing she's sooo cute.

Taking a nap on momma and papa's bed.

This is the first "tummy-time" and goes to show that
her neck is still floppy. She pretty much just
drooled a bit. We'll try again soon :-)

One Month Old!

Hello all,

Whew! It's been one month since Addi's arrival. It's hard to believe. I haven't blogged in awhile, so this is playing catch-up.
First, I thought I would catch up on some pictures of Addi - 'cause she's so cute. Also, to fill you in on a bit - we got to head down to the Olympic trials last Sunday with the posse. It was fun to be part of the crowd and watch (on the big screen) some of the events). One of the weirdest things happened, though. Jon and I were each pushing a stroller. When we got to the metal detectors, the lady told us to leave the babies with her and go down to the end of the row through another metal detector. I just stood there sort of stupidly thinking, "My baby is three weeks old, I am not going to just walk off and leaver her with you." She kept saying, "just push them through and go over there." I finally told her that I would wait until Sandy went through and could be there with Addi. I know it's a small deal, but I'm not going to leave my kids with some security lady. Anyway, after that, we had no more run-ins with the law. :-)
Addi has been doing well - the last few nights she slept for five hours in the middle of the night. It's amazing the things I treasure. She's just delightful and such an easy baby. We are quite fortunate.
Sandy also had his recital last Friday. Our parents, his sister Joy and my Aunt, Uncle and cousin all came to town. It was wonderful to have so many people here to celebrate him. Our good friend Sarah even drove down from north-central Washington (we love you Sarah). Sandy worked soooo hard and it was nice to have our friends and family witness his hard work. He did wonderfully. We also got to spend the weekend with Sandy's family. We saw the sights of Eugene and got to do some shopping - always fun! I don't have many pictures of them on here yet, but will post them when I get them.

Settling In

Well, we've been settling in this week - establishing a routine (or something like one). I've had a great week resting while Sandy has been putting the finishing touches on his recital. Adalie is doing well. We went in for her two week visit. She's in the 66th% for height and 42% for weight. The doctor said she's doing beautifully. We had to go back in for them to poke her heel - apparently they can test for upwards of 22 diseases. She did beautifully and didn't even notice what they were doing (she was eating at the time.)
We were able to play at the Carsons on the 4th of July which was so fun. They are so hospitable and were gracious to open up their home - hurray for back yards. We got to share Addi around - which I'm sure she would have loved had she been awake :-)
Ok, it's about time for a nap - we'll see if Addi will sleep, so I can...

Here are a few photos of the last week. I've attempted to include a video - I'm not sure it will work, but it's just so funny. Well, it's mostly funny that I actually caught this on video...

Lazy Days.

"Mom, seriously....that's enough!"

Ok, I'm not sure if this will work, but if it does, you need to watch her nose..
